Zero data collection

Dumpit does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app makes zero network requests. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting — nothing leaves your device.

Photo access

Dumpit requires access to your device's photo library to display, sort, and delete photos. All photo processing happens locally on your device. Dumpit cannot read photos from other apps or system files outside of the media library scope you grant.

Photo deletion

When you swipe left on a photo and confirm deletion, Dumpit uses the Android MediaStore API to move the photo to your device's trash. Deleted photos remain in the trash for 30 days (depending on your device manufacturer's implementation) and can be recovered through Google Files or your Gallery app.

Permissions

Dumpit requests the following Android permissions:

  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — to display your photos for review
  • READ_MEDIA_VIDEO — to display video thumbnails
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy) — required on older Android versions for deletion

Dumpit never accesses files outside the MediaStore scope you grant.

Third-party code

Dumpit is built with open-source libraries (React Native, Expo, Zustand, Reanimated) but does not include any third-party SDKs that transmit data. The app has no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting SDKs, and no analytics SDKs.

Open source

Dumpit is fully open source under the MIT license. You can inspect, audit, and verify the source code on GitHub. The app contains no obfuscated code, no network permissions, and no hidden functionality.
